Who they are and what do they do...

Established in April 2007, they are a division of the UK government called the Office for Standards in Education, Children's Services and Skills (Ofsted). Their goal is to ‘…raise aspirations and contribute to the long term achievement of ambitious standards and better life chances for service users’. As an inspector and regulator of care, education and training to children and young people, their initiatives focus on creating efficient and effective services that are constantly improving and focus on their user’s interests.

RAISEonline (jointly run by Ofsted and the DCSF ) Produced by RM Data Solutions, RAISEonline is a web-based business intelligence tool used to disseminate school performance data and replaces the current Ofsted Performance and Assessment (PANDA) reports and the DCSF Pupil Achievement Tracker (PAT) database system. As well as DCSF and Ofsted, Head Teachers, teachers and administrative staff in 22,000 maintained schools, and 150 local authorities, use RAISEonline.

  2. Self Evaluation Forms (SEF)
    The Online Forms System is used by all schools to complete their Self Evaluation Form. This is the key document, which now drives and informs the school improvement cycle and school inspections.
