RM Data Solutions has been awarded a £3m, four-year contract to provide data services for the Tenant Services Authority (TSA), the regulator for social housing.
RM will be responsible for designing, implementing and managing the National Register of Social Housing (NROSH), a national database containing detailed information about four million properties across England. The project includes collecting data from 1,500 housing associations and 150 local authorities, checking and collating this data, and providing reporting and data analysis tools. NROSH will be used by the TSA, and other stakeholders, to inform research, policy making and investment decisions.

The Tenant Services Authority (TSA) is a non-departmental public body sponsored by the Government department for Communities and Local Government. Launched on 1 December 2008, the TSA is the independent regulator for social housing and currently regulates housing associations. From spring 2010, subject to Parliamentary approval, the TSA will also regulate other providers of social housing, such as local authorities and arm's-length management organisations.

Paul Charman, Commercial Director of RM Data Solutions, said:

"RM Data Solutions has significant expertise in providing complex and innovative public-sector data solutions for our education and housing clients. We have a long track record of working with the TSA and have delivered the annual Regulatory Statistical Return since 2004. The new NROSH system will provide a rich set of reports and analyses to support social housing providers and other stakeholders in making informed decisions.”
