Over 13,000 centres use awarding body Oxford Cambridge and RSA Examinations (OCR) qualifications, including A Levels, GCSEs, and vocational qualifications such as OCR Nationals, NVQs and Basic Skills. OCR supports these schools, colleges, workplaces and other education providers to successfully deliver their qualifications.
OCR wanted a solution that would offer teachers a unique perspective on their results data and give them greater opportunities to better understand their candidates’ achievements.
The RM Data Solutions Solution

RM Data Solutions proposed and created Active Results; an application allowing teachers delivering OCR qualifications to identify trends and cater their teaching style to specific needs within the classroom.
Active Results is an intuitive, secure and data based web application available to individual teachers and centres. The application allows the user to view a number of different reports, showing different aspects of their pupils’ progress or attainment, and also filter the individual groups of pupils. Gender, Ethnicity, and First Language are three such filters that allow users to access reports specific to their needs.
The system has been developed using the latest Microsoft technologies; created as a .net application fed by a powerful SQL Server database, utilising SQL Server’s Reporting Services and Dundas Charts to present clear and accurate tables and charts.

Active Results, still in its testing phase, is fast proving to be a product capable of giving its users a unique advantage. The next step will be to implement Active Results across other OCR qualifications, allowing over 40,000 teachers to take advantage of this free support tool. Used to its full, Active Results will help teachers provide a greater quality of education, increasing the level of knowledge and success obtained by students.
